The Ollam of Celtic tribes in Ireland was the highest rank of any profession. The first Celtic tribe to arrive on Ireland were the Milesians and there Ollam was Amergin. Amergin was the navigator, negotiator, the poet and the druid. His knowledge defeated the Tuath De Danann, the magical inhabitants of the island at the time.

About Matthew and Ollam Travel

Matthew is from Co. Kildare and began his career in construction, working on projects in Dublin, London and Australia. He got a passion for travel and adventure and decided to change career to travel and tourism.

Matthew earned a degree in Adventure Tourism Management and instructed outdoor adventure activities all over Ireland and the U.K. His passion for travel and adventure brought him to the Himalayas on an expedition to Everest Base Camp in 2018.

Matthew began guiding tours in 2018 and earned the National Tour Guiding badge in 2019. He created Ollam Travel in 2020 and is the Head Guide and Managing Director
